An exciting time of the year for casino operators and game creators, the 2nd Annual Gaming App Awards have come and gone. The best of the best have been recognised and the event proved to be one filled with many accolades for those in the online gambling industry.
The Gaming App Awards were created to recognise the top-notch innovations and creations in the mobile gambling industry. Featured categories that were covered by the awards include casino, slots, bingo, sports, poker, and lottery.
Award Winners
The Jackpots app by Betsson won the most coveted award of App of the Year. Betsson also managed to win the Best Slots Game App award! Mr Green also claimed two awards throughout the evening including the Best Casino App and Innovative App of the Year.
PokerStars was rewarded with two top titles. The world’s largest online poker card room took home the award for Best Poker App as well as Best Free-to-Play App. The remaining winning categories saw awards being given to many well-known industry names.
Best Sports Betting App went to Playtech, with Lottoland receiving the award for Best Lottery App. Mecca Bingo claimed the title of Best Bingo App, and the final award for Best Social Gaming App was won by Mobile Strike, a popular mobile game that is backed by Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Women in Gaming Awards
The very exciting 7th Women in Gaming Awards also took place during the Gaming App Awards ceremony and many inspiring and hard-working ladies in the casino industry were recognised.
The Industry Pride of the Year award went to NetEnt’s Frida Östberg, while Microgaming’s Lydia Barbara won Innovator of the Year! Thereze Carlson, from Mr Green, took home the title of Inspiration of the Year.
The awards ceremony went off without a hitch all thanks to Clever Duck Media who organised and hosted the evening’s events. It’s evident that the events company has many years of experience working within the online gambling and igaming field.
