GameSys’ Jackpotjoy B2C business has been acquired by Canadian company Intertain as announced on Thursday.
A new subsidiary will hold the Jackpot Joy brands and player data assets, which has been acquired for GBP 425.8 million paid in a combination of cash, share considerations and cash earn out payments.
The acquisition involves several brands including Jackpotjoy Bingo in the UK and Sweden, Spanish brand Botemania and social casinos Jackpotjoy and Starspins.
Another aspect of the deal includes a 10-year services agreement that will see Gamesys (Gibraltar) Limited and Gamesys provide platform services and gaming content to the brands. Additionally, Noel Hayden, principal shareholder, founder and managing director of Gamesys will fill a spot on the board of directors of Intertain as a non-executive director.
“Gamesys and Intertain are a perfect match. From our earliest discussions we shared their vision which we know is critical to a successful long-term partnership. This is a great deal for Intertain and Gamesys, our shareholders, our employees and our players,” said Hayden.
